Developed for interceptor and FPV-class applications.
UAV Propulsion · Engineered in Vaasa, Finland
Midguard Systems develops application-specific BLDC motors for UAV manufacturers that need dependable performance and a resilient European supply chain.
Our first 3220 motor platform is engineered and prototyped in Finland and is now in pre-production, with 700 KV and 950 KV variants for different UAV duty profiles.

The Supply-Chain Gap
The supply of critical motor components — above all rare-earth permanent magnets — is concentrated in a single region. For UAV manufacturers, that concentration translates directly into production and continuity risk: lead times, allocation and export conditions sit outside their control.
Midguard addresses this at motor-design level. Electromagnetic engineering, component sourcing and manufacturing planning are combined from the first design iteration, so that sourcing flexibility is a property of the motor rather than an afterthought at final assembly.
98%
of the EU’s rare-earth permanent magnet demand is currently met by Chinese imports.
Approach
Developed from electromagnetic and mechanical requirements, not selected from a catalogue and rebranded.
Designed to support European-sourced rare-earth magnet configurations and reduce dependence on a single region.
Product and production requirements developed together for a route from samples to repeatable pilot batches.
Align motor, propeller, ESC, duty cycle and qualification requirements with each customer program.
Midguard 3220 Platform
A compact 6S outrunner BLDC platform for demanding UAV applications, engineered and prototyped in Finland.

3220 · 6SDeveloped for interceptor and FPV-class applications.
700KV
3220 · 6SDeveloped for endurance-focused applications where lower KV and efficient operation are priorities.
3220 platform · 6S architecture · Pre-production · OEM configuration available
Final performance depends on the complete propulsion setup, including propeller, ESC, voltage, cooling and duty cycle. Configuration-specific test data is available to qualified OEM partners.
Supply Chain
Final assembly in Europe is not enough if critical motor components still depend on one supply region. Midguard starts with the materials, magnetic design and production process—not only final assembly.
We describe sourcing against a defined product configuration—not with blanket claims that cannot be traced to the bill of materials.
Magnet and component configurations that can be sourced within Europe, defined per product configuration.
Sourcing is matched to each OEM program’s continuity, compliance and volume requirements.
Repeatable pilot production is being established in Finland alongside the current evaluation phase.
OEM Process
Requirements cover operating profile, voltage, propeller envelope, environment, compliance needs and volume.
A 3220 variant and component configuration are proposed against the defined requirements.
Samples are evaluated on the bench and in the OEM’s own setup, with a qualification plan agreed together.
Repeatable pilot batches are produced in Finland once the configuration is frozen.
Volume ramp is planned against demonstrated pilot output and the program’s own timeline.
Development Status
Midguard has built pre-production hardware for its first 3220 platform. The current phase focuses on bench testing, OEM evaluation, qualification planning and the establishment of repeatable pilot production in Finland.
Detailed performance data is shared against the relevant motor, propeller, ESC and duty-cycle configuration.
