About Midguard Systems
Midguard Systems Ab develops application-specific BLDC motors for UAV and autonomous platforms. Its motors are engineered and prototyped in Vaasa, Finland.
Midguard was founded on a straightforward observation: European UAV manufacturers depend on motors whose critical components come from a single supply region. The 3220 platform was therefore developed from scratch, so that its magnet configuration can follow a program's continuity requirements instead of being inherited from an existing design.
The company is in bench testing, OEM evaluation and qualification planning, and is preparing repeatable pilot production in Finland.
Founders
Midguard Systems was founded by Simon Hästö and Mikael Holmqvist.
Co-Founder & Chief Business Officer (CBO)
Simon has a background in industrial management, production leadership, operations and logistics, and holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Management. At Midguard he leads business development, commercial strategy, OEM partnerships, financing and the operational build-up of the company.
Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Mikael has more than ten years of experience in electric and BLDC motor development, including Power Tools R&D and project management at Mirka. At Midguard he leads motor architecture and engineering, testing, qualification and production development.
